Theater U of the Medan Area University held the North Sumatra Gebyar Anak Seni (GAS) 2019 for the third time, on Wednesday and Thursday 24 to 25 April in the volleyball court of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UMA Campus 1, Medan Area University.
The Children of the Arts Festival held various activities such as poetry festivals, dance dances, modeling, solo vocal, beatbox and others. At least 100 schools from various regions in North Sumatra participated in this activity.
UMA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan M.Eng, MSc, gave his appreciation to the GAS activities throughout North Sumatra. Prof. Dadan even said that the activity was in accordance with the vision and mission of UMA to form innovative, personal and independent characters. "This activity is one of exploring talent and talent, the benefits are numerous. This activity also boosted the achievement of UMA's vision and mission, "explained Prof. Dadan when opening the event. The UMA Chancellor also hopes that the committee will prioritize sportsmanship and honesty in evaluating the participants.
Theater U coach, Asmah Indrawati said that his party was very supportive of the activity, being able to show creativity among students and for the committee to strengthen sportsmanship, togetherness that upholds honesty in conducting evaluations. "The art show is also a manifestation of creativity," he said. Also giving speeches were Committee Chair Dani Pohan and Chairperson of Theater U M Rizky. Art activities are also filled with bazaars.
The activity was also attended, Deputy Rector III for Student Affairs, Muazzul SH. M.Hum, Vice Dean for Student Affairs in Psychology at UMA, Syafrizaldi S.Psi, M.Psi, U Theater Trustees who are also UMA Public Relations, Ir. Asmah Indrawati MP.
