Medan Area University and PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) 1 together with universities in North Sumatra and Aceh signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the Certified Student Internship Program (PMMB) located at Pelindo 1 Headquarters, Jalan Krakatau Ujung Medan, Monday 11 March 2019.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Chancellor of UMA, Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng M.Sc and Director of HR Pelindo 1 H Hamied Wijaya and other university leaders who participated in collaborating on the Certified Student Internship Program (PMMB).
The Certified Student Apprenticeship Program is a manifestation of the Ministry of BUMN's program, 'BUMN Present for the Nation'. This program provides opportunities for students to channel their potential and explore experiences in BUMN through PMMB.
The purpose of the Certified Student Apprenticeship Program is to add insight & skills to prepare and create superior Indonesian human resources, especially in the face of global competition, for industry sources of employee recruitment as needed and to increase company branding for companies and for universities to calibrate links & matches. curriculum and syllabus between those delivered in universities and those required by industry.
PMMB is open to all faculties in the Medan Area University but must go through a selection both at the Medan Area University and at Pelindo 1. Students who are declared accepted as PMMB participants at Pelindo 1 or other SOEs will carry out an internship for six months. Students will get real work experience in the world of work, get competency certificates, pocket money per day, and have the first opportunity if there is a recruitment program at BUMN.
With the Certified Student Apprenticeship Program (PPMB), students in any PTN / PTS become a step directly in the world of work to apply the knowledge they have gained in an educational environment.
