As for Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng, M.Sc as the Chancellor of the Medan Area University in his speech said that this webinar activity is very important because the guarantee of halal status is a consumer need. This activity also contributes academics to sharia management and halal products.

In his presentation, Prof. Khaswar Syamsu explained about halal products, the process of obtaining a halal certificate from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and others. According to him, the Muslim population in Indonesia is very large when compared to other countries, therefore halal products are very much considered and are a sensitive matter to be discussed.

Based on the 2017/2018 global Islamic economic report, Indonesia is ranked first as a consumer of halal food products but is ranked 10th in terms of halal food production.

This means that Indonesia has been the target market for halal products, rather than being a major player in the production and export of halal products. Even though Indonesia has the potential to produce halal products.

"Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the important pillars of the Indonesian economy and the largest provider of products consumed by the public. The contribution of MSMEs to Indonesia's economic growth covers 99 percent of the number of business units ".

"Increasing rapidly every year and reaching 64 million in 2020. The total contribution of MSMEs to the national economy is 60 percent, 97 percent of labor absorption and 58 percent of total investment and 14 percent of total exports, hence the opportunity to produce verified halal products. is very high, and makes the production of halal products in Indonesia increase, so Indonesia is not only superior as a consumer country for halal products but also superior in terms of the production of halal products, "said Prof. Khaswar.

To achieve halal products, it is necessary to pay attention to starting from halal ingredients, regardless of the animals or anything that is clearly prohibited. Halal animals also need to be considered starting from the slaughter so that they remain in accordance with Islamic law, then production facilities that are not contaminated with haram / unclean materials and become output in the form of halal products.

"For MSMEs who want to apply for halal certification, first we need to register with BPJPH (Halal Product Guarantee Agency) offline and also through LPPOM MUI by registering online and then going to the fatwa commission and writing a letter. Now the letter from the fatwa commission is the basis for BPJPH to provide halal certificates, "he explained.

Apart from Prof. Khaswar Syamsu, there was also Fikri Alhaq Fachryana as the Main Brand Head of the Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) Line who explained related to halal processing and sharia management express courier and logistics case study in JNE.
