University of Medan Area (UMA) signed a memorandum of understanding of cooperation with Grab which is related to the collaboration on Scholarship and Inauguration of the Grab Stop at Campus I, Universitas Medan Area Jl. Pool No. 1 Medan Estate, the event was held in the Rector's Meeting Room on Friday 20 September 2019.
The signing of the Partnership Memorandum of Cooperation was attended and opened by Prof. UMA Record Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng. M.Sc, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Ir. Siti Mardiana M.Sc, Deputy Chancellor for Collaboration Dr. Ir. Zulheri Noer MP, Deputy Dean of Law for Student Affairs Ridho Mubarak SH, M.H, Head of BAK Sri Irawati, S. Sos, MAP., Head of BAA Ir. Azwana, M.P, Public Relations UMA Ir. Asmah Indrawaty MP.
In his speech, UMA Rector Prof. Dadan Ramdan said that the cooperation between universities (PT) and other institutions is an accreditation demand. Without cooperation or MoU with various parties, PT will be impossible to develop. In addition, with this collaboration, UMA means being able to provide benefits to universities in Medan and outside the city of Medan. This is a challenge and UMA must try to be better, so that its presence is felt by those who collaborate, "said the chancellor.
The Chancellor said that in this collaboration it was not just a signatory but there must be an implementation in which Grab had been implemented first, then one of them was the Grab Stop that had been made in the UMA Campus I environment. The motorbike, I hope, is not only on campus I but also on campus II UMA, and the scholarship program provided by Grab can be followed up by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the Head of BAK.
In his address, City Manager Ken Pratama said that I was very pleased to be working with universities including the University of Medan Area, we had also collaborated with other universities and had built a grab stop there, and for the scholarship we would submit it to the Medan Area University, "he said.
Then the last event the Chancellor and his staff and the Grab delegation visited the Grab Stop spot to see the Online Grab motorcycle taxi parked at the Grab Stop and to take a photo together with the online motorcycle taxi parked at the bus stop.
