The Faculty of Law, University of Medan Area in collaboration with the Branch Leadership Board (DPC) of the Indonesian Advocates Association (AAI) Medan held an Advocate Professional Education event, the event took place at the University of Medan Area Versatile Building Jl. Swimming No.1 Medan Estate from 14 August to 15 September 2019.
The event was attended and officially opened by UMA Rector Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan M.Eng M.Sc, Chairperson of the AAI Medan Central Board (DPP) was represented by Sri Yuni Hartati SH, CH, Dean of the UMA Faculty of Law Dr. Rizkan Zulyadi SH. MH., Deputy Dean for Student Affairs Ridho Mubarak SH. MH., Head of the UMA's Faculty of Law, who is also the Chairman of the PPA Committee Zaini Munawir Lubis SH. M.Hum, and Head of Criminal Wessy Trisna SH. MH. and PPA participants.
In his speech UMA Rector Prof. Dadan Ramdan said, UMA was very concerned with the development of knowledge related to the profession. Therefore, UMA is grateful for the collaboration with the Indonesian Advocates Association in the implementation of Advocate Professional Education.
On that occasion, the Chairperson of DPP AAI represented by Sri Yuni Hartati SH, CH, said that the Advocate Professional Education (PPA) which was held in the second was different from that carried out by other advocate associations, hopefully they would be more enthusiastic and become good advocates.
AAI is an advocate organization that first initiated the study of Advocate Professional Education related to Law No. 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education, Presidential Regulation No. 8 of 2012 concerning the Indonesian National Qualification Framework and other implementing regulations, therefore it has a moral responsibility for the implementation of Advocate Professional Education in accordance with KKNI. "We don't want to be careless in the implementation of Advocate Professional Education. Participants are expected to become professional advocates after entering the field, 'said Sri Yuni.
While the Dean of the Faculty of Law UMA Rizkan Zulyadi in his reminder reminded, advocates have three main functions. First, providing legal services, both inside and outside the court. Secondly, it helps to realize the principles of the rule of law in social and state life. And third, helping to uphold justice based on law for the benefit of justice seekers, including efforts to empower people to realize their fundamental rights before the law.
In the activity that brought the material this time was the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, University of Medan Area Ridho Mubarak SH, MH. bringing material to new advocates on how to respond to clients in a good way and not become an advocate who is not arrogant to leave the client if he already gets money and the case is not resolved.
