Agribusiness Master's Degree Study Program The Medan Area University (UMA) Masters Program conducts a field trip to Bangkok, Thailand 2- 5 May 2019. The group is attended by around 20 second semester students and 4 accompanying lecturers. The group was led by the Director of the Masters Program Prof. Dr. Ir. Retna Astuti K., MS and Ka. Agribusiness Masters Study Program Prof. Dr. Ir. Yusniar Lubis, M.MA, Sek.Prodi Dr. Ir. E. Harso Kardhinata, M.Sc along with Prof. lecturer Dr. Drs. Syaifuddin, M.MA and Mitra Musika Lubis, S.P, M.Sc.
In his statement Ka. Agribusiness Masters Study Program Prof. Dr. Ir. Yusniar Lubis, M.MA said that field trip activities aimed to broaden students' insights and experiences, especially entrepreneurship in agriculture (agribusiness). In addition, this field trip activity is related to several compulsory subjects that have been and will be carried out by other students including Leadership and Entrepreneurship, Strategy Management and Agribusiness Policy, Agribusiness Feasibility Analysis, Agribusiness HR Management, Agribusiness Production Management and Agribusiness Information Systems.
On the first day, May 2, the tirp field was held at the Kurma Pricha Plantation located at SUAN INTHAPALAM PREECHA. Adress: 70 Moo 2 Tambon Bangplab Amphor Pakkret Nontabhuri. Agribusiness Masters students get an explanation of dates cultivation, nurseries, to marketing.
On the third day of May 4, 2019, the visit was held at the "Big Bee Farm" Honey Bee Farm located at 41/10 Moo 3, Pattaya-Chonburi Road | Nong Pla Lai, Bang Lamung 20150, Thailand. Students can see firsthand how honey beekeeping in artificial hive boxes, honey processing into various types of honey bee derivative products, processing techniques, storage techniques, to the efficacy of each type of honey products.
